Pastor Tony Rodriguez Jr.
Pastor Tony is joyfully married to his loving wife, Sayuri, whose love, strength, and partnership have been part of the foundation of his life and ministry. They are the proud parents of little Abigail and their spiritual son, Mark (he’s a pastor of two of our local churches as well). They’ve also had 9 other children who at different times of their lives have joined their family and have become part of their family forever.
They have witnessed God do miracles through the power of prayer, revival and evangelism. Pastor Tony considers his family his greatest earthly blessing and is committed to leading them with intentionality, courage, and unwavering faith. Whether at home or in ministry, he lives to leave a legacy of wholehearted devotion to Christ.
“Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart;
for consider what great things He has done for you.” 1 Samuel 12:24
Pastor Tony grew up in New York, in a pastoral family. His father served the Lord in the country of Venezuela and in many churches in the United Staes. He witnessed from an early age the joy of serving The Lord.
Pastor Tony is a graduate of Blue Mountain Academy. During his time there he had an experience that lead him to fall in love with Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior, and to serve him with his life. He was impressed to start his theological training by going back to his roots in Venezuela. After two years of theology he transferred to Andrews University and double majored in Communication and Religion graduating in 1999. Pastoral ministry started as he was called to the Michigan Conference and served there eight years. During his time in Michigan he completed his Masters in Divinity (2003). He started pastoral ministry in the Michigan Conference, then served in the Central California Conference, the Oregon Conference, the Gulf States Conference and now following God’s call in the Southern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
Pastor Tony greatest joy is seeing lives that are not only changed by our Loving God but then empowered by the Holy Spirit in helping others to be ready for Christ’s soon return. He enjoys spending time with his family, taking long walks with them, cooking, golfing, singing, playing the guitar, traveling, and of course his number 1 – spending time with the Lord in His Word.
